FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.- Does the sponge of VEPLUS become dirty after cleaning dirty glasses?

Certainly not because the continual flow of liquid through the sponge produces a real selfcleaning of the sponge and keeps it in perfect condition for further use. This feature allows to use the same sponge applicator in the 60 ml. client sample bottle.

2.- Does VEPLUS have anti-static or antifog properties?

To answer this question we should consider that when a specific anti-static or antifog liquid is applied to a lens it may leave an oily residual film on the lens. This film has some disadvantages such as:

  • Cleaning the lens takes substantially longer time and more work.
  • The residual film encourages reflection on the lens after treatment, what is opposed to the objective of antireflective treatments.

One can choose the properties a liquid cleaner should have, depending on the product's purpose.

VEPLUS is targeted at the normal glasswear user. The most important thing for our consumer is fast, easy and effective cleaning.

VEPLUS has some anti-static and antifog properties, but only to a degree that guarantees its fast cleaning and absence of reflective qualities. With more anti-static or antifog properties in the liquid we would have an imbalance of performance and VEPLUS's successful fast cleaning solution would be spoiled.

Many products are labelled as "anti-fog" and in fact they do not have this property. These products are as anti-fog as VEPLUS is: just to a small extent only, and therefore it is questionable that antifog capabilities should be claimed.

3.- Can the sponge of VEPLUS scratch modern lens treatments?

The sponge of VEPLUS cannot scratch any kind of lens treatment, the reason is that the sponge is softer than any one of them. Furthermore the sponge contacts the lens surface in a humid state and virtually without any pressure on it.

VEPLUS has been supplied by ARTEBEL to opticians in Spain since 1989, without any complaint at all. Taking this in mind we can guarantee that:

In what is concerned the capability to scratch a lens treatment, the sponge applicator of VEPLUS does not make any difference in respect of the use of a conventional spray product.
